February 2019 "Love Yourself"

  “Love Yourself”

I woke up the other day to a voice within me saying, “I love you.”
It was a rather strange and curious experience. The night before, I had been debating whether or not I should go to the gym to work out.  I had plenty of excuses not to go, like the frigid weather but I needed to do cardio to support my health. Doing a workout helps to regulate my blood sugar and I had been praying for support with managing my diabetes.  I hadn’t come to any decision about going to the gym before falling asleep, so when I heard this beautiful voice in my head that morning, I wondered, at first, if I was trying to manipulate myself into doing the “right thing”.

I decided to explore.

I laid in bed, opening myself to the energy.

“I love you,” I heard again. “I love you whether or not you go to the gym.”

It was not so much the words that I heard within that got my attention, but the energy I felt that came with the words.  It was unconditional love, and acceptance.

Whether or not I went to the gym to work out did not change my self-worth, I was loved by this energy regardless.

I recognized that the tape I normally play in my head, the guilt, shame and judgement about what I should or shouldn’t do, was gone.  It was weird! It was wonderful! It was freeing!

Something was shifting within that allowed me to feel love for myself without the veil of judgement.

I did workout that day, but it wasn’t because I felt obligated to do the right thing, it was because I wanted to, it felt good. I felt amazingly happy with working out!

As I reflect on what transpired that morning, I smile.   I’ve been actively showing up for my own healing for 7 years and the changes within have brought me to the moment of loving myself unconditionally.

At Crow Moon Healing, we understand that the journey to loving oneself is the most important journey of a person’s life.  We support this journey through being present with people in a space that is energetically supportive, offering shamanic spiritual healings, and shamanic classes lead by Debra Morrill.

Healing the Red Thread: An Ancestral Healing Workshop
The weekend of June 22-23, 2019
Crow Moon Healing  •  6472 Breunig Road, rural Mazomanie, WI

The genetics passed down to us from our ancestors determine the color of our eyes and hair. We receive much more than just physical traits from our ancestors, though. We also receive their wounds and unfinished business. The circle will focus on gently shifting the heavy burden of inherited ancestral energy and bringing healing to the family line. The ability to journey and receive intuitive guidance during guided meditations is helpful.

In this experiential weekend workshop, you will:

• meet your family totem and ancestor allies to connect with their guidance and wisdom for healing
• reclaim gifts from the ancestral lineage
• clear family patterns and agreements that no longer serve you
• call back ancestral soul essence and power lost to wounds in the family line

To register or for more information, please contact Debra Morrill at 608-279-4319 or debramorrill@charter.net.

"From a Place of Love"

The bunny Booka Boo didn’t appreciate my attempts at coaxing him back to the garage.  At first, the rabbit would run up to me when he was roaming but as he got more adventurous, I started getting fearful for him.  Molly supported me.  She’d chase the bunny leaping and bounding towards the rabbit making Booka frightened. He'd scamper away. I used a broom to assist the bunny to go in direction of the garage door or corner him and pick him up, which worked in the moment but Booka became less trusting of me.

Booka proved over and over that he knew how to get back into his safe place in the garage without help, slipping through William’s bedroom door.  This little bunny wasn’t afraid to hop his way around and over a 180-pound pig to enter and exit the garage. But because I had chased Booka, he didn’t trust me and if I showed up the bunny would leave the area, even his safe place in the garage, like I was a predator.  From a distance, I could observe Booka exploring the area with Greg, the cat, the chicken sisters and even nosing up to Molly, but if I showed up Booka would become wary and nervous.

My intentions with Booka was to allow him to explore but keep him safe.  BUT my actions with him were driven by fear, rather than love. I meant well but allowing fear to drive my actions backfired.  An opportunity for growth had shown itself.

I became aware of a repeated pattern of behavior in my life.  I’ve parented in the same manor.  Not wanting my children to be unsafe, I parented from the place of fear and at times it backfired.  My adult children are forgiving.   We’ve talked through mom’s unsuccessful, fearful, parenting techniques and although they appreciate my intentions behind the behavior, it wasn’t helpful or supportive for them.

I decided to open myself up to the energy of love, rather than fear with Booka.
As the days passed I trusted what Booka was showing me. Booka would explore when it felt right to him, but when it rained or snowed, he stayed in his safe place.  I discovered that Booka was forgiving. I could eventually open the top of his house and feed him without him bolting.  As I met him outside adventuring I would be calm and still and he wouldn’t hop off. Perhaps, there is something to this shifting of energy.

Let 2019 be the year where it is natural to act towards ourselves and others from a place of  “Love” rather than from a place of “Fear”.

1) TWO-DAY BASIC SHAMANISM WORKSHOP - JANUARY 5-6, 2019

This class is a great way to develop intuitive skills and learn to journey and receive information directly from Spirit!

Connecting with Divine Spirit through Shamanism
A two-day basic shamanism workshop
Saturday, January 5, 2019  •  9 am - 9 pm
Sunday, January 6, 2019  •  9 am - 4 pm
Crow Moon Healing  •  6472 Breunig Road, rural Mazomanie, WI

From the beginning of time, indigenous cultures on every continent shared a shamanic spiritual view. Our forebears lived close to the earth, deeply in tune with her cycles and seasons, the elements and nature. In this connection, they found their spirituality. They believed that every living being had a spirit - not just people, but also animals, trees, stones and plants. They commonly traveled into the spirit realm to communicate and interact with power animals, spirit guides and nature spirits. Through exploring the basics of shamanism, we can rekindle our connection to the divine and develop our ability to communicate directly with Spirit to receive guidance on our spiritual path. This is a foundational class for future shamanic workshops.

In this two-day experiential workshop, we will:

• gain comfort with accessing divine wisdom through the shamanic journey and explore the shamanic realms by journeying to the Lower and Upper Worlds
• meet a power animal and a spirit teacher to serve as guides in the spirit world
• practice a method of divination with natural objects and connect with nature spirits
• participate in a fire ceremony to release and transform energy
• experiment with the shamanic sounds of drumming and rattling

Fee: $330 with early registration by December 27 -OR- $375 after December 27  Meals included in the workshop fee: snacks, lunch on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday and lunch on Sunday. Dinner on Saturday evening is potluck style before the evening fire ceremony. Basic lodging is available on-site for Saturday evening at no extra charge. There are a variety of beds, air mattresses and sofas available. Or bring a tent and camp.

NEXT 2.5 YEAR SHAMANIC MEDICINE WHEEL/TRAINING PROGRAM BEGINS FEBRUARY 2019

The Shamanic Path: a 2.5-year shamanic medicine wheel and training
program based on core shamanic healing techniques led by Debra Morrill
Begins February 1-3, 2019, and meets one weekend every three months
Begins Friday evening at 7 pm and runs through Sunday afternoon at 4 pm
Crow Moon Healing  •  a spiritual B&B located in rural Sauk City, WI

"The Shamanic Path" is a 2.5-year medicine wheel program combining personal healing work and training in core shamanic healing techniques. It brings about lasting growth and personal transformation. It is designed for:

    * those who want to use shamanic techniques for their personal healing journey
        -OR-
    * those who are drawn to shamanism to deepen their connection with Spirit
        -OR-
    * those who wish to begin a shamanic healing practice (formal or informal) or to fold shamanic healing techniques into an existing alternative health practice (such as massage or reiki)

Walking the medicine wheel is a way of shedding old patterns and beliefs that no longer serve us. When the unhealed wounds of the past are brought out into the light for healing, deep transformation results. In doing this work, we embody more of our True Self. Shamans are often referred to as "wounded healers." In combining a training program along with personal healing work, we make medicine out of our past. Healing ourselves restores harmony to our being, allows us to practice the work with integrity and compassion, and prepares us for being of service to others.

"The Shamanic Path" training program meets 10 weekends over 2.5 years - one weekend every three months. It begins February 1-3, 2019, and takes place at Crow Moon Healing Bed & Breakfast in rural Sauk City, WI. The base price of each weekend is $440 (which includes lodging and breakfast). Each weekend begins Friday evening with opening circle at 7 pm and runs through Sunday afternoon with closing circle at 4 pm.

This training program is appropriate for intermediate experience levels. Some pre-requisites are required, such as the ability to receive information during shamanic journeys and prior attendance at a two-day basic shamanism workshop.

There is a practicum option available for participants who wish to go into shamanic practice working directly with clients.

For more information about "The Shamanic Path" medicine wheel/training program beginning in February 2019, please request a brochure by replying to this email with your physical mailing address.

The registration process includes filling out an application and having a 30-minute phone interview. If you are interested in participating in the “The Shamanic Path” 2.5-year program, please let me know of your interest. To register or for more information, please contact Debra Morrill at 608-279-4319 or debramorrill@charter.net.
