"Expecting?"

Molly gazed up at Ann as we walked up the hill.  I sensed she was admiring the little girl, Laureline, in Ann’s arms.  “You know I’m expecting a kid any day now?”  Molly said to Ann.

“Molly, you’re not pregnant,” I informed the goat for the hundredth time.

Molly gave me a goat glare and continued to energetically connect with Ann.
“I am too pregnant! I’m due any day!” Molly argued.

Ann, an empathic soul, who has dealt with many channeled animal conversations in her life, sighed, “Oh Molly, it’s got to be tough wanting a baby so badly.”

Molly, feeling rejected, walked away her udders swinging.

It was February when I noticed that Molly’s udders began bagging up.  I’ve never had a goat before so I didn’t know if goats start swelling in their udders at the age of two as part of a natural process or some kind of immaculate conception was taking place at Crow Moon Healing.
As time passed, and Molly began looking a bit pregnant in the belly as well as continuing enlarging her udders, I reached out to a gal who had goats via facebook. I sent the woman pictures of Molly’s udder.

The woman asked if she was around other goats birthing and if I’m sure that a male goat didn’t breed her.
 I explained the situation.

“Ummm ya, Molly is my only goat and she thinks she’s married to William the pig and harasses him when she’s in heat but he’s adamant he had nothing to do with this, and besides he’s neutered.  In fact, the only in-tact male we have is the bunny and he says he’s not interested in the goat.”

Although that got a laugh from the lady, I’m not so sure she knew I actually had the conversation with William and Book-a-Boo Bunny.

I was told that Molly was experiencing a pseudo pregnancy, which means her body is acting pregnant. Basically, Molly wants to be a mom so bad she’s got her body playing along.  I guess this is not too uncommon with goats, but usually happens when their around other pregnant goats and babies. Molly has no goat friends.  She’s got a grumpy boyfriend of a different species.

The vet came out and verified what the goat lady told me, that it’s no harm to her to be fake pregnant and it’ll take its course and she’ll just go back to normal, eventually.

I can’t help but feel sorry for Molly.  She’s so settled on having a kid.  She’s less hyper, more grounded, actually she’s content, gentle even.
As I write this on the deck I see her sunning herself by the rocks.  She had spent the morning grazing with William and the chicken sisters and now she’s sunning her belly. I can’t help but hope that perhaps a buck living five miles down the road came over one day, without my awareness, and gave Molly the gift of conceiving.  I’ve sure appreciated her mellowing out, so has the pig.

I knew last fall that Molly was depressed.  I felt she wanted a baby and I thought about getting her a little friend instead but wasn’t ready.  I picked Alfred, a Jersey bull calf this spring but she’s not taking to him as a nanny goat.  He’s her size.

She wants her own baby. I can’t blame her.

I wonder how Molly will handle it when the pregnancy dries up and there is no baby.  Will she go back into her version of depression?

Well, Molly’s got my attention and I know exactly what she wants. She’s communicated loud and clear.
Perhaps, I should go talk to the buck five miles down the road.

Healing the Red Thread: An Ancestral Healing Workshop
The weekend of June 22-23, 2019
Crow Moon Healing  •  6472 Breunig Road, rural Mazomanie, WI

The genetics passed down to us from our ancestors determine the color of our eyes and hair. We receive much more than just physical traits from our ancestors, though. We also receive their wounds and unfinished business. The circle will focus on gently shifting the heavy burden of inherited ancestral energy and bringing healing to the family line. The ability to journey and receive intuitive guidance during guided meditations is helpful.

In this experiential weekend workshop, you will:

• meet your family totem and ancestor allies to connect with their guidance and wisdom for healing
• reclaim gifts from the ancestral lineage
• clear family patterns and agreements that no longer serve you
• call back ancestral soul essence and power lost to wounds in the family line

To register or for more information, please contact Debra Morrill at 608-279-4319 or debramorrill@charter.net.

"Connecting with Divine Spirit through Shamanism"
A two-day basic shamanism workshop led by Debra Morrill
August 17 - 18, 2019
Saturday, August 17 from 9am-9pm
Sunday, August 18 from 9am-4pm
From the beginning of time, indigenous cultures on every continent shared a shamanic spiritual view.  Our forebears lived close to the earth, deeply in tune with her cycles and seasons, the elements and nature.  In this connection, they found their spirituality.  They believed that every living being had a spirit- not just people, but also animals, trees, stones, and plants.  They commonly traveled into the spirit realm to communicate and interact with power animals, spirit guides and nature spirits.  Through exploring the basics of shamanism, we can rekindle our connection to the divine and develop our ability to communicate directly with Spirit to receive guidance on our spiritual path.

In this two-day experiential workshop, you will:
  • gain comfort with accessing divine wisdom through the shamanic journey and explore the shamanic realms by journeying to the Lower and Upper Worlds
  • Meet a power animal and a spirit teacher to serve as guides in the spirit world
  • practice a method of divination with natural objecs
  • participate in a ceremony to release and transform energy experiment with shamanic sounds of drumming and rattling

Debra Morrill, B.A., has a shamanic healing practice in Prairie du Sac, Wi.  She specializes in compassionate repossession, ancestral healing and curse unraveling.  She leads a six-month ancestral healing circle and a two-year shamanic training program.  Visit her website at debramorrill.com for more information about shamanism, spirituality and personal healing.
